Cabaret meets Shanghai Jazz with Janet Lee & WVC Trio +1
Monday, December 9 @ 9.30pm

Janet is the go-to-girl in town for Shanghai Jazz. Being gifted vernacularly and with languages, her performance is the epitome of "east meets west, theatre & cabaret meets jazz".

Early 2013, Janet revamped her Shidaiqu repertoire - looking further into the vast repertoire of Chinese oldies. She collaborated with composer, arranger and jazz pianist - founder of jazz band WVC Trio, Tay Cher Siang. The result is a brand new repertoire titled Shanghai Jazz Redefined - golden classics that underwent snazzy, contemporary and exciting jazzy rearrangement. In June 2013 the group performed at the 7th KK (Kota Kinabalu) Jazz Festival to an international audience.

Combining the dramatic theatrics of musical numbers and the nostalgic Shidaiqu with Cher Siang's jazzy tough, this would be an evening of great music served with the right amount of drama to set your week off the right way.
